SYNOPSIS
It’s triple the fun
with Season Three of TV’s most outrageous sketch comedy show, In
Living Color. With its off-the-wall humor and in-your-face look at
celebrities and pop culture, Keenan Ivory Wayan’s creation has a comic
boldness all its own. The new season introduces Jamie Foxx to an
already outstanding cast. The Fly Girls return with a sexy newcomer
named Jennifer Lopez. And the edgy writing is back with a vengeance.
This 3-disc Collector’s Edition features 28 hilarious Season Three
episodes- and it’s gonna rock your world!
CRITIQUE
Season 3 is known
for being one of the funniest in the shows history, the last season
for series favorite Damon Wayans, and the debut of a scary looking
unknown named Jennifer Lopez. The show also had some decently funny
original characters like “HandiMan” (a “challenged” crimefighter), and
Vera De Milo (a female bodybuilder portrayed by Jim Carrey).
My gripe with this DVD set is it’s exclusion of
what I believe is the season’s (and quite possibly the series’) most
hilarious episode/skit: The Michael Jackson Black Or White parody.
Also absent is the entire episode “Downtown
Julie Brown’s Music Video Special” which included parodies of MC
Hammer, Paula Abdul, and Vanilla Ice.
As for the included episodes, they did include the Home Alone with
Michael Jackson parody (episode 6) and a hilarious parody of the move “The Hand That Rocks The
Cradle” (entitled “The Fist That Rocks The Cradle”) (episode 19).
28 episodes on three
double-sided discs.
THE VIDEO
Fox presents In
Living Color in 1.33:1 fullscreen format.
THE AUDIO
Fox presents In
Living Color in Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo.
THE EXTRAS
With all the skits Fox excluded from this DVD set you would assume they
would compensate with numerous extras, but the only bonus feature is a
Mad TV trailer.
FINAL THOUGHT
This 3 disc set will disappoint and leave you feeling cheated.
VERDICT: RENT IT
