The Movie

Kevin Smith's very last installment of the view askew jersey movies, and it doesn't disappoint. Jay and Silent Bob find out from Holden, the co-creator, that the comic book based on their likenesses "Blunt Man and
Chronic" is being made into a Hollywood movie.

The two travel across the U.S. and to Hollywood to collect their "phat movie check". They are told that they
cannot collect their money and therefore set out to destroy the making of the movie by being superbly directed by the always funny Chris Rock.

This fifth and last movie connects all the other four Smith movies and really puts a nice close to the New Jersey-Kevin Smith collection. There are many cameos by many celebrities that you would not expect.

This movie is packed with laughs and inside jokes for us
hardcore Smith fans.

The Video

Widescreen (2:35:1) - IT is enhanced for 16x9 televisions. This is by the far the best looking Smith movie. The colors here are very clear and crisp. Only a few specs here and there otherwise a great transfer.

The Audio

Presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound (special DVD mix). The sound is very good and clear. It's really put into great use for some of the songs used throughout the movie that make that particular scene.

The Extras

This DVD is loaded with goodies. You have hours of extras including the last commentary by Kevin Smith who is joined by Scott Mosier and partially by the always under-the-influence Jason Mewes.

-Deleted scenes that come in at over 1 hour with intros by the man himself and guests.
-Gag Reel has some great outtakes.
-Internet Trailers with Intros. These are those trailers you could download on the net that had swearing and cruder jokes.
-TV Spots.
-Still Galleries... pictures from the movie.
-Storyboard... some great pictures drawn by producer Scott Mosier.
-Behind the scenes comes in at about 10 min that has some great scenes of the cast just messing around.
-Morris Day and the Time-Learnin' the Moves: is a 3 min feature on watching Jay and Bob learn their moves for the end sequence in the movie.
-2 Videos from Afroman (I got High), Stroke 9 (Kick Some Ass). They are both great videos even if your not a fan of that particular music.
-Comedy Central's Reel Comedy: JSBSB, a 22 minute special with mostly highlights from the movie.
-Cast and Crew Filmographies. A great addiction since their are so many cameos.
-Guide to Morris Day and the Time.
-French Language Track.
-Spanish Subtitles.

DVD-ROM Extras:
-Open Mic Commentary
-Screenplay Viewer. Read the entire screenplay on your computer or act it out with friends for a good time.
-Weblinks

Overall

The entire movie is a giant view askew roller coaster of
memorable cameos and great dialogue. A great ending to the view askew universe. Thank you Mr. Smith for 5 great movies that are all in my DVD collection and should be in everyone's collection.
