The members of Vermont's highway
patrol have far too much free time on their hands. To occupy
their meaningless existence, they have taken it upon
themselves to screw with the minds of those they stop. But now
their department is under threat of being pushed out of the
Vermont budget, and the 'normal' cops would gain jurisdiction
over their strip of land. Can these misfits find a way to get
their act together and possibly even solve a crime or two in the
process?
Before this movie, I had never
heard of the comedy group Broken Lizard. After seeing this film,
I'm sorry that I had. Although the cast does work well together,
the film looks like a rejected plot for a Police Academy
movie. The jokes range from hilarious to completely
disturbing... sometimes in the same moment. This is not a bad
film, but it's not good either.

Just the standard anamorphic
widescreen, nothing special.

Like the video, this is just standard. Nothing seems to have
been punched up for the sake of DVD.

Extras:
- Two separate commentaries by the
Broken Lizard Gang
- Deleted Scenes/Outtakes/Extended Scenes
- Road Trip Feature
The extras are fairly anemic. The
two commentaries by the cast of Broken Lizard are fine, but they
are not very interesting. But it's still cool they decided to
record it.
The deleted scenes include an
alternate ending (which isn't really that good), a few extended
scenes, a few alternate takes (watching the guys having to gulp
down the syrup is pretty funny), and a few deleted scenes.
The Road Trip is a short
look at Broken Lizards marketing campaign of going to different
college campuses to promote their film.
Neither of these are very
interesting to look at.

It's a shame this film wasn't
funnier. The biggest amount of praise I have for it is that,
well, at least it was better than the trailers made it out to
be.
