No words can express how much I hated this movie. This is the worst movie of the year and I very highly doubt that anything else will beat it. This was such a painful thing to watch... it was horribly unfunny, constantly annoying, and very predictable. Hell, this may even be the worst movie I've ever seen in my entire movie-going life. [Editor's note: really???]

Here's the plot: Jimmy Livingston (Jake Gyllenhaal) was born without immunities in his body to fight off germs, so he must live in a plastic bubble for the rest of his life. He ends up meeting this girl next door named Chloe (Marley Shelton), and Jimmy falls in love with her. But, unfortunately for Jimmy, Chloe ends up being engaged to this jerk named Mark (Dave Sheridan), and they are set to be married in Niagara Falls.

Well, now it's up to the Bubble Boy to stop the wedding... and on the way, he runs into a bunch of different people including a cult, and a bunch of circus phreaks (yes, it's spelled like this... at least in here).

There is not one single funny scene in the movie... not even a chuckle, or a smile. In fact, I pretty much sat in my chair, pissed off that I spent $4.50 on this trash. Also, to make things much worse, the performances are bad... we don't care about Jake Gyllenhaal's character. Neither do we care about Shelton's character -- it's not interesting whatsoever (in fact, she seems more like a bitch than someone nice, like in most movies of this caliber) -- and we also don't get a chance to hate Dave Sheridan's character enough.

The only good thing I can report in this review is that Bubble Boy is tanking at the box office, but you've got to feel sorry for the individuals who saw this trash (myself included). Only see this if you want a slow, painful way to convince yourself to commit suicide... all others should stay very far away. [Editor's note: the suicide bit was a joke caused by frustration]
