I always say that whether kids turn out good or bad, they are the products of their parents. Girlfight is the new movie from first time director Karyn Kusama. In the movie, very quick-tempered young woman Diana Guzman (Michelle Rodriguez) comes from a broken home where she lives with her brother and father. She doesn't get respect at home or school, but she doesn’t give it back to no one either.

Diana is on the brink of becoming a women, but the path she's choosing could get her in a lot of trouble. Her way to change her self and get the discipline, self respect and love she needs so badly is to train and become a boxer.

As she trains, she sees the world in a different light. And everyone tells her boxing is for men and not women. This makes her mad, but also more determined to prove them wrong. Along the way she falls for a male boxer and soon she starts to go on the right track.

Girlfight was a very good movie. It's about the human spirit and that family is a very important thing to have. When it seems that life is not getting you any where, you just change life before it changes you. Here are some things I liked about Girlfight.

The story was hard- hitting with strength and power. The story kept you in it from the start to the finish. The cast was very good. Michelle Rodriguez is a very good actress and the rest of the cast was also good. The boxing scenes looked good. Even though I'm not a boxing fan, I can say it did boxing justice. Girlfight shows us no matter what sex you are, you can do what ever you heart desires and play whatever sports you want to play.

Overall, Girlfight was a very powerful, hard- hitting drama that let's you see the story of a determined woman. It will knock you out at the end. Check it out as soon as you can.
