"I do not like kids movies." That is what my little brother, Derek, usually hears when he wants me to take him to see the latest Disney cartoon or the next installment to the Pokemon series. He then badgers me until I take him. So, this being true, I have seen almost every child's movie that
has come out in the last two years. I suffer through all of them, like most adults, and walk out of the movie theater feeling like I have just been beaten with a piece of wood by 100 five year olds.

Recently, I have been able to fall asleep during the movies, but I snore, so an embarrassed Derek quickly awakens me. Well, I did not sleep during Spy Kids, the new kid's movie from the director of Desperado. Spy Kids did not seem to last for decades as most Pokemon movies do, you don't have to learn special names or codes to understand the plot, and you actually enjoy it! Now, I am not saying that Spy Kids deserves an Oscar, but I am saying that I truly enjoyed the film.

It is obviously aimed at children, but there is enough adult
humor and action to keep any parent (or badgered older brother) interested in the film for the entire 85 minutes. Now that you are interested in the movie, are the kids? Hell yeah! The showing I went to was 75% kids and there
was silence the entire movie. THE JOY! Too bad I didn't want to go to sleep. So for all of you parents out there who hate taking your kids to movies, Spy Kids IS FOR YOU! It is a great film with good family morals and some exciting action sequences. I'm ready to buy tickets for the sequel!
