How man people do you see at your job everyday? Can your remember them if their life depended on it?

That's the case in the film called The Watcher. It's a thriller about burned out FBI agent Joe Campbell (James Spader) who failed to apprehend cold blooded serial killer David Griffin (Keanu Reeves) in his hometown of Los Angeles. Joe moves to Chicago but David follows him in order to pick up where he left off in L.A.

David follows young women for a week before he strangles them with piano wire. He thinks he's Joe's friend so he changes his style to make it easier for Joe. He sends Joe a picture of a young girl. Joe has 24 hours to find her before it's too late. The chase is on.

The Watcher offered Keanu Reeves, who has had hits with films like Speed and The Matrix, a different role. The way he acted was very good. He has the serial killer look down pack with his charismatic smile, yet devilish cold blooded in forms of terror.

James Spader's Joe Campbell was believable. The biggest disappointment in terms of acting was Campbell’s psychiatrist played by Maria Tomei. She looked very bad, as if she hasn't slept in a long time. In fact, she looked a lot better in her previous films.

The Watcher flows together nicely. It wasn’t the best movie but also not the worst. The ending looked fake, but the film in general was watchable. Go see it now and see for yourself.
